When it comes to talk about the current way of running true version of Microsoft Office on a tablet, then users need to use a Windows RT-based tablet such as Microsoft's own Surface RT that you can find with a tablet-centric cut-down version of Office.

"We don't take it from the point of view, 'Do we need to have the PC software that's running on every single device?’ we look very much at 'What is the experience that we are looking to have on those devices'," said Kurt DelBene, head of Microsoft's Office unit.

When it ask the accessibility of Office on Apple's iOS, DelBene strained online versions of office applications that can be used through browser; however apps do not offer the complete facilities of installed software or an application.

DelBene said, "We've actually done a lot of work on iOS devices this time around.” He also added "We have enhanced the web applications pretty substantially, in partnership with Apple."

The company is going to offer native iOS versions of its Office suite of applications that include Lync communication suite, SkyDrive online storage service, OneNote note-sharing software and SharePoint collaboration site
